Save the Date, State Convention
June 11–13, 2026 · George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston
The Republican Party of Texas State Convention comes to our own backyard this year. Delegates advance from precinct conventions through senate district conventions to represent Harris County on the state stage.
Who Can Participate?
To participate you must vote in the Republican Primary on March 3, 2026, or sign an Oath of Affiliation with the Republican Party at your Precinct Convention. Know your Precinct and Senate District before you go, look up your voter information here.
How the Convention Process Works
STEP 1
Precinct Convention
March 7, 2026 · 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Location based on your State House District
Participants:
- Approve Senate District Convention delegates and alternates
- Propose and vote on resolutions, submitted to the Temporary Resolutions Committee at the SD Convention
STEP 2
Senate District Convention
March 28, 2026 · 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location based on your State Senate District
Delegates:
- Approve State Convention delegates and alternates
- Debate and vote on resolutions from precinct conventions, which may advance to the State Convention
STEP 3
State Convention
June 11–13, 2026
George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston
Delegates from across Texas:
- Adopt the party platform and rules
- Elect state party leadership
- Set legislative priorities
